Not true. If you use YubiKeys to store your GPG key, it's not a problem. You can have multiple YubiKeys with the same private key, or you can encrypt to multiple recipients.

This is a good moment to remind everyone of this excellent guide: https://github.com/drduh/YubiKey-Guide it describes how to use your YubiKeys (please always use at least two, so that you have a backup) for GnuPG keys

Signal doesn't share your contact list. WhatsApp does, and this will not get "fixed", because it is done on purpose. It's the reason why Facebook paid $19 billion or so to buy WhatsApp, and from what I understand it'

If you use Braintree as your payment processor (something I would not recommend), you get SecureMetrics as your PCI auditor. Even worse, someone is overzealous, because you will get SecureMetrics on your back even if you are below the PCI t

Signal is in an impossible position. On one hand, it needs to appeal to the crowds currently using WhatsApp and happily syncing their entire contact list to Facebook/Meta, so that they can be profiled and a social graph can be built. T

Anything that can provide income inevitably leads to a flood of garbage from people trying to game the system. The current ad-driven web resulted in SEO garbage and near-uselessness of search engines.

You mean you outsourced to Cloudflare the decision on who is allowed to view your website. That could be well-intentioned, but it's a risky thing to do, and I would not to outsource that decision. Especially as I wouldn't know who

This is needed even if you are IN the Apple ecosystem. I don't want to upgrade my phone to the latest half-baked iOS version, so Apple purposefully degrades the functionality of my new AirPods 3. Siri won't switch noise cancellati

I scanned a lot of 35mm film, of various kinds, using a high-end flatbed scanner (EPSON V700 Photo). The biggest problem is not the optical quality, but mechanics: flatbeds can only scan strips. And if your film is very old and has been sto
