Like Derek said, lots of good support and interest in the SG community. The government also (from my newbie eye) seems to be genuinely interested in promoting startups and creating a startup community. On the flip side, unless your startup

So I understand that scoring higher means a higher chance of having autistic tendencies...does the opposite end signify anything else besides having a lower chance? (I scored a 13 fwiw)

Reminds me of node.js: single-threaded but very fast at switching to do different things.

This is why I feel a sense of dread every time I update versions of software I use on my stack...even if you read all the release notes diligently, and everything seems like it'll check out ok, sometimes you just never know what exactly mig

I also use GWT on a project I'm working on, except the back end is a combination of nginx, nodejs, and postgresql, so I don't get the luxury of coding everything in the same language. However, so far I've found GWT pretty great to work in

I remember writing a report on the failure of the war on drugs...and this was 13 some years ago when I was in junior high. Sad to see drug policies still haven't changed much since then.

Have you tried Vundle? I found it about a week after I got into vim and it was pretty easy and accessible.

lobbyists win again... If only a group of wealthy individuals who were interested in improving our political process and decision making could form their own lobbying group...against lobbying!

So what? I don't know what qualifies as 'cashing in', but there's more to life than just running a company. Just because you've decided not to stick around for 20-30 years doesn't mean everything you did up until then wasn't hard work.

Sounds a bit like sour grapes. If you have a problem with something like this, you should have a problem with the fact that the data they're mining is public data and not that people are mining it.

IF brogrammer wasn't sexist (which is highly debatable), I wouldn't go so far as to call these guys juvenile and idiotic. Sometimes you just need to have a little fun with it and lighten up a bit. You only get one life to live so might as

Maybe it's because I didn't read the transcript of the talk, but it sounded like someone tried to ask him his opinion of money in politics and about money being able to buy influence and power, and unfortunately it looked like he failed to

I'm not sure what this will do for the AirBnB founder's reputation, but the pattern of incessant whining from Greenspan certainly has lowered my opinion of him.

I can't say much for the factual basis of 'how we got here', but this is definitely one interesting view/take on it. I sometimes wonder to what degree each of the recent movements (Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and now the U.S.) has inspired each

+1 The only bad thing I can think of is that I usually run kde with all the special effects turned off and the look of apps and whatnot in this mode is a bit of an ugly grey. However, if you do turn on all the fancy graphical stuff, I woul

A lot of these make sense, but I would caution against being discouraged if you show any of these symptoms. Like another front page article that says IQ is not static, I think this also definitely applies to programming ability. I hope thi

Since you mentioned it, I think the underlying theme of the OWS movement is the rampant amount of pandering to special interest and lobbying groups due to campaign contributions and other quid pro quo shenanigans. Sure there's other random

Awesome app. I've been thinking of an app like this in the back of mind for a while. Since I'm usually too cheap to buy music, I often hit youtube to listen to specific songs, but it's always a bit of a pain to listen to music that way.
