Wasn't the age, we just didn't want to pay for burying the power lines, so high winds in hot dry weather... Oops.

I think (perhaps) a better comparison is we don't allow people to shout fire in a crowded theater. Every right has some limitations, otherwise laws and government are irrelevant.

That sounds lovely! Was it playable? I'd love to take a look at the manifests, if you could make them available somewhere.

Pain is weakness leaving the body, Feeling stupid is ignorance leaving the mind. Embrace it. School is designed to give you set pieces that can be understood in isolation, the outside world rairly has that luxury. You won't truly impro

In my experience, people either truely care about the business domain, and are willing to be uncomfortable to delve into it, or not. Types and proofs seem to be orthogonal. Some domains are worth it, some are not. Sometimes it fits well, so

Well, maybe. Additional costs with these approaches are often ignored. I wouldn't want to give up proof systems as a tool, but too many treat them as a zero cost panacea. A proof system or type checker is not an excuse to not give a f

Depends on how they handle political issues. Cell networks are beholden to the local government, as they have to build infra there. This might put more pressure on national firewalls.

Lisp in Small Pieces https://www.amazon.com/dp/0521545668/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i... is excellent, and I think would help.

Level of previous knowledge assumed, tutorials tend to be more "starting from zero", and scope, guides tend to have a narrower focus.

CDS and AppCDS, along with jlink, are also great for this.

These days you can cut out most of that with jlink to trim down the jvm, and ClassDataSharing (CDS) and AppCDS. This post goes into it: https://blog.gilliard.lol/2017/10/04/AppCDS-and-Clojure.html

I think these kind of tools are more about provisioning a "normal" cluster from an "admin" cluster. That way the power flows downhill, as it were.

I think more in the sense of "I believe this is better regardless of objective reality". The others convey that you like or are into something, this conveys that you won't be swayed, so anyone reading further had better be ok

No, it depends on the contract, and usually you forbid it, at least without approval, as things can get pretty nuts. There are some real horror stories.

Not necessarily. I've seen some k8s on IOT industrial use cases where it made sense. Solar power stations were one example, IIRC.

This problem is one reason why it's important to separate CI from CD. If you do that, then circleci would only have what's needed to test and package it, and the CD can handle the rest, although ideally you'll have a third pi
