In terms of tooling, there’s excellent tooling for ASN.1 for C and C++ and maybe some other languages. There’s excellent tooling for protobufs for a handful of languages too, but they’re different sets, so in practice what languages you wa

When I first saw protobufs, I wondered exactly the same thing. There’s an “XER” if you want a human-readable XML encoding, too.

One thing worth noting is that chalk 5 is ESM only, so if you’re using commonjs, you’ll need to use chalk 4, or transpire it with Babel, or something…

A FOSS license is generally “anyone can do whatever they like with this code provided they include this copyright notice”, and maybe some other conditions. “Anyone” here definitely includes NPM, so NPM is free to distribute, modify, host,

I guess it’s time to remove all of Marak’s packages from my dependency trees. I’m worried his next one will be a post install script that does ‘rm -rf /‘ or something.

Unfortunately I think copying 100K elements is going to be exactly as painful as it sounds. The `[]Impl` is going to be (more or less) an array of 100K strings. The `[]Abstract` will be an array of interfaces, each of which is internally

If you’re looking for a good source of ebooks at sensible prices and without DRM, check out Baen’s web store. Their prices went up quite a bit a few years ago because of some marketing deal, but they’re still pretty good, they’re still DRM
