What's the feature comparison like with OptimalLayout? I've been loving OptimalLayout for over a year. Of course, costing money is sort of a big difference.

In NYC the taxi commission is in the pocket of the medaillion holders. That's why the recent law to issue more mediallions (2,000 at ~800k each = $1.6b for the city) had to go through the state instead (Albany being less corrupt than anythi

What's the Toronto scene like? I'm finishing up a PhD at NYU this year and was planning on breaking in to the field after graduating. NYC is obviously a great place to be but for relationship reasons I was thinking of moving to Toronto (whi

Sorry to belabor the point, but this is exactly what parent was saying. > changing something like > ("foo", > "bar", > "baz") > to > ("foo") > actually breaks the code. Of course it breaks the code

I'm not clear on what in my comment you're saying "no" to. isinstance(tuple, ("foo")) being True is not a "rough edge" (or if it is anything people are ever confused by is a rough edge). If it were True, that would also mean you couldn't us

I don't always code Python, but when I do I don't complain much about these issues :-). I think everything you've mentioned is pretty defensible, particularly the readability bit. Honestly if a language does everything reasonably well, I th

I'm so confused. You seem to be saying that > 4 * (3+2) should throw: > TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for *: 'int' and 'tuple' ??? I beg to differ.

The day I went back to Snow Leopard I realized that the only thing I miss from [Mountain] Lion is the non-ugly scrollbars. Everything else was just better.

There's a big difference between making your own choices and forcing other people to make your choices, which is what density restrictions do. Housing markets reflect the collective desires of people that live in an area, and SF housing mar

Or OSX where I can never seem to get vim to build from source (which is the only option for Ruby or even Python integration). I know I've done it in the past but every time I need to I forget the magic I need to do.
