The DARPA challenge is much more complicated, the Instagram challenge (which is accompanied by a solution!) is child's play.

It should be a rule in every company "don't blame the user"; if they don't contact you with their problems, it's _your_ task to let them contact you. Put a big "contact" button in your app, make it easier to give them direct feedback to you

Since I've been using Swype on Android, every "normal" keyboard on a touch device seems primitive. Even the iphone/ipod keyboard to type emails, text messages is to slow.

I don't know if it's just me, but I think you might need to rethink your market/angle. I've worked with a few startups and the last thing on our mind was "centralized employee authentication" and "infrastructure dashboards".

Amazing! I'm starting to use it today, most todo/list/project apps suck, this looks really good -- so far =:) The only thing I don't like is that there is instantly a member added to the first board "Trello" - which makes me wonder if someb

I think it has more to do with culture than number of vehicles, the countries with high deaths are all in West-Europe. I would be able to predict that without even looking at the graphs, in Italy, Spain,.. they drive like a madman in big ci

Damn, that sucks. But why don't you try to make money in a different way? When I look at http://notifo.com/pricing I can't see you making (immediatly) money with this strategy. I think you'll have to become really big before services will

You might have a look at Monte Carlo Tree Search & improvements they made on it for game playing. It's easy to parallelize and has had amazing results with Go. You might also combine it with a moves/games database and play variations on

There are many programs around there that can do this automatically for you. But imo it is not a good idea, real people are much more interesting. I don't think you will achieve that much with a bunch of people that are not really intereste

Of course you shouldn't judge the character or quality of a professional with an A/B test, that would be ridiculous (although I can imagine people doing it). BUT you should do A/B tests, if you do an A/B test with 1000k+ people and one desi

Idd, I was thinking the same, they want to make it look like they do a really "scientific" test -- but I don't think you can conclude anything with these tasks.

It has been a while since I have checked it out, but you give it training data (examples + values) and then it will be able to predict values for unseen examples. Eg. predict if a comment on a blog post is spam. Actually the google predicti

If you're not able to produce valuable output then there might be something wrong with your schooling. If you have studied already 3-4 years computer science than you can do something useful.
