I dont know if I told you this, but my suggestion is to focus on Grief Counseling. That will be a big hit. Memorials are macabre.

B.S. Google Maps doesnt work. Dont need fancy - just basic stuff that is correct - like MapQuest! I got miserably lost when driving from Olathe KS to Lawrence, KS a few months ago. I used Google Maps which spat out wrong directions. I had

Well, in 1997, I built a small prototype of a squeezeball that generated voltage levels which were mapped to characters or commands. (But did not successfully complete it). Well, you need an environment - money, encouragement (advice, not

Did you give your cofounder equity immediately? Or was there vesting and/or a trial period? I am interested in learning more.

"The act of writing is what counts" really? So you will agree that writing our ideas down on the YC application form made them valuable? (which is precisely what PG is arguing against).

I dont read his essays any more. No, you are missing the point. So, now it is qualified by startup ideas? Then where did all the "ideas are worthless" phrases come from? (like this thread). If you agree that in general, ideas have worth -

I am not bothered to look for his article but I am sure he used the term "ideas are worthless". Otherwise that phrase would never have independently stuck around here so long.

Google's Achilles heel is web advertising. It is much weaker than M$(Microsoft). IMHO, I predict that web advertising will be web 2.0's bubble. (Not saying more until I check out my theory on why it may prove to be a bubble).

Reforms often fail in India and France because unions can shut the country down through paralysing strikes. Why aren't they able to do so in America? (e.g. Calcutta is a dying city because of this - a Bengali once told me).

Why are unions weak in the USA, but so powerful in France, India etc. even though they are bad for the economy?
