For me it was remembering what my bindings were for every little thing. I’m a guy who built his own keyboard for extra macro keys. I have 12 extra off the left side. It worked out very nicely, and it was a pretty smooth experience. Until I

My interpretation of that posters argument is that someone who posts as much as this reddit user can’t be putting much effort into finding these links. That means there’s more lowest-common-denominator type content that people look at very

Gardening and playing music are both timeless activities, what do you mean? Kind of unfair to jump down the throat of someone who’s only offering friendly advice.

I think it’s a good point, and not one I’d considered. But there’s a large lead lead time required to hone intelligence in school or by other means that it doesn’t account for.

There does seem to be a type of person who just wants power due to some deep psychological drive, and won’t or can’t look at the bigger picture to consider the cost to society for them to get it.

I have a similar story. I used to work with a guy from India, and he told me “If you ever meet an Indian in a position of power, they got there through nepotism and not by their own merit.” Hearing that was pretty shocking, not so much beca

I don’t think it’s fair to call it a racist position. I read it as them saying that the Chinese government is doing these things, not that the Chinese people are doing these things.

I have a similar problem. I do what interests me in the moment and I don’t make myself feel bad when I don’t make the progress I wanted on something else. I think I’m happiest that way.

That seems like an awfully pedantic position to take. The ability to install a program is irrelevant?

I have a friend who lives in Texas. He’s back at his parent’s house after schools closed, and says that his mother is making a point to go to the grocery store every day, bringing her 74 year old mother with her. He says that his mother oft

We all have our own mental models of the world and expectations that derive from them. I don’t think that the parent is trying to say that their intuition is more plausible, only stating their surprise.
