The Discord server is terrible. It’s both overrun with kids and yet also weirdly harshly moderated. The device itself is fantastic though. Gives me some real Pebble vibes in all of the best ways. It’s very hackable and even though I don’t d

Those two were my wake up calls. The US absolutely is in the hacking business, but they are not in the getting caught business. Everything we have seen so far is incredibly sophisticated and took years to discover. How can you then go out a

Sure, it’s X-Plane 12. But this really is a problem for any software that is continuously being developed and that sees active releases. Any time the internal API or ABI breaks, chances are you break someone’s work with it.

We are shipping an OpenGL driver with our Vulkan game. For legacy reasons, our plugin SDK requires an OpenGL contex that plugins can use for drawing. Sins of the pasts and what not. But the game itself has moved on and is now using Vulkan o

While this is a great hack, this feels like a terrible product to sell to customers. I work on a game with an SDK for plugin development, but sometimes third party developers go off and want to do things that the SDK doesn't offer. Sin

I’m in the same boat, I think I actually used the 100 searches up in two weeks or so. I remember wanting to search something on the couch and then being told I’m out of credits, throwing money at them was a no-brainer at that point. I think

There is no way he'd be fired if they had AGI. If they had AGI, the board wouldn't fire him because they could no longer see anything other than massive dollar signs.

I don't fully remember, but I think it was about One Direction. We very quickly went off on tangents, but I think the feature was implemented so that the third person can spy on the messages but not interact in any way. I sometimes won

I didn’t use Omegle much, but I actually met my now wife on there. We used the text only thing where a third person suggests a topic. Must’ve talked for a good 2 hours on there before exchanging informations, I shudder thinking that even th

They are all easy to solve if it weren’t for social inertia though. It’s not like there is a fundamental law requiring poverty to exist, we know exactly what is causing these issues and have the resources to deal with them. We just don’t wa

It's not a reference, it's just a really neat game mechanic. Normally the high score is guarded by the game and changes only if the game deems it fit to change it. In this game, because the high score is accessible within the game

I wrote a little kernel for fun in high school. I wish I still had the time to pick it back up again, or contribute to something like GNU/Hurd. Stuff like this is exactly the reason I became fascinated with programming. Not everyone he

I really hope Chrome becomes paid software, the fallout in my immediate family is going to be glorious. On a less cheeky note, I’m all for breaking up Google but the reality is that outside of this small tech circle nobody cares. People lik

I’m in the market for a RAV4 plugin hybrid and the wait time here is at least a year if not two. I’d love a Toyota EV though, I have no interest in a Tesla so if Toyota truly entered the market I’d be all over it.

I wish I could say the same. My ISP and DO have absolutely terrible peering, unfortunately a lot of our internal stuff is hosted there. It’s always fun to git push/pull with 40kb/s on a gigabit connection.

What’s wrong with game controllers? They are built to be ergonomic and in use for extended periods of time. Also a lot of people are already familiar with how to use them. Not saying we should replace every bespoke interface with a game con

I do think there is a mood aspect to it. I didn’t watch 1899 right when it came out because I wasn’t ready for it mentally yet. A lot of things I watch around Christmas are lighthearted movies, including a bunch of Hallmark stuff. I don’t h

I too have an LG TV that I quite like. It’s fun seeing WebOS in use and I actually like the built-in apps. Then again, it doesn’t show ads. The day it does, it’ll never see the internet again and get fed from an external device.
