I've done my fair share of web programming. But JavaScript (for me) has always been to add the flash, not to write the app. In the past couple of months, I dove into Backbone.js, Sammy.js, etc. and while my JavaScript worked, it wasn't "t

Yeah. I helped a friend of mine get signed up. You enter all your information on their web site (address, phone #, etc.) and then during the chat, they make you confirm all the information you just put in. Why the hell did I waste 10 min

There is no one magic bullet for RSI. Mine got so bad that I've had the surgery for it. And that hurts. Or maybe I just have a low pain threshold. But after the surgery, it was fantastic. If you can afford it (i.e. insurance or have th

I agree with him in regards to selling your house. More than likely your social circle isn't going to be the one buying your house. But as a buyer, I sought out my friends advice: anyone have any experience with the neighborhood? The coun

I'll veer away from the legal status aspects of it :) But as far as rejecting an accepted offer, an offer letter isn't binding. It is signals your intent to sign a contract (i.e. that long employee agreement that no one reads). And even

I believe that most people blend C# and .NET together. C# is a standardized language. .NET is a closed platform. Anyone can implement C# the language. You can write a compiler that outputs Java byte code if you really want. But a langua

I've never used a 3rd party vendor for this. I've used ServerBeach, Rackspace, etc. But it was always with my hardware sitting on their network. Regardless, be very careful when choosing your 3rd party vendor because of PII laws. Some 3r

"Microsoft couldn't seem to get that right" - I think the depends on your definition of "right" is :) The hardware and UI of the software on the Zune are (IMO) better than the iPod Touch. I enjoy the visuals of the Zune playback. I love s

Mercurial, Git, Fossil, etc. are all extremely easy to setup. I'd setup one of those and then setup a branch/clone in DropBox. Mercurial and Git have hooks that can run when a commit is finished. Just write a quick hook that automaticall

I like the website. It isn't nearly as cluttered as LastPass.com. Which brings up my main question, why would I switch from LastPass.com to you? If I do switch, do I have to enter everything manually? I didn't see any mention of import

I would consider my wife a foodie (a baker not a chef). I thought she might like the site (she enjoys answering questions about the recipes that she posts on her site). So I pointed her to it, showed her the basics, and left. Came back a

I've had no problems with speed. How big of a repository are you working on? The largest I work on is about 70MB of source (code, html, images, documentation, etc.). I use a shared repository and branches take maybe a second or 2 to crea

I've had a Steelcase Leap chair ( http://www.steelcase.com/na/leap_products.aspx?f=11852 ) for about 5 years now. It was simple enough that I had it adjusted to the sweet spot in about an hour or two of sitting in it. I've made slight adj

Very true. Which is another reason why I keep the 27" further to the left as a separate monitor. When they are side x side, I can see the difference. But when focusing just on the 24" for coding, I do see the difference. It just doesn't

I've got two monitors. But take this with a grain of salt because I'm not a PC gamer. I use a console, but I do have the console hooked up via HDMI to one of my monitors. I've got a 24" Dell rotated 90 degrees to portrait. I have this on

I think the key difference is that Apple (probably) built a working prototype themselves before showing it to Foxconn. This way IP rights were completely owned by Apple. Foxconn may have helped tweak it, but the rights still belonged to
