I enjoy your snarkiness daniel, but I think it's a bit more complex than "I'm so clever", FDE is a feature of MacOSX, Ubuntu, and .. I dunno.. probably Windows by now? Who cares. They can essentially use all the tactics

My initial reaction, I have to admit, was roughly yours. I read on, hoping to find some kind of innovative notion, some x factor that would be a real game changer, annnnd I smacked right up into this: "Founded by Morris and Lane Moore

That is quite frustrating, and consumer vendors should be mindful of creating life-changing experiences. Also: backups. I know it sounds cliche, but look, if it has a mechanical hard drive, the manufacturer could have slightly mis-calibrat

This is a very valid concern, but what if a private small business provides me an encrypted broadband connection over municipal fiber, which saddles the city / county with the _physical_ problems, and sacrifices a little bit of latency

If you live or have an office in SF, my understanding is that you have PG&E. At least once per decade for several decades, there have been impassioned efforts to implement municipal power in SF, to transfer all of the PG&E assets a
