Rest assured, this was rolling around in our heads longer than two weeks ago, and we had no idea a SW team had tried to build something like this. Not that, that would have changed anything anyway... :)

Thanks for sharing. Our take: - We try to only run GPS when your next calendar event is coming up. - Right now we have an application-wide setting that says, "Add X minutes to my travel time." We're hoping people will use that to accommod

Big thanks for the feedback Jon. 1. Bounce doesn't actually (at least it isn't supposed to) use your GPS all the time. It should poll for updates every 30 minutes until it gets closer to when you need to leave, then we ask for updates the

Btw, if any HN readers want a copy, let me know your UUID (here or at vibetogether.com). Latest version also vibrates phones, so you can use it w/o an OhMiBod.

The OhMiBod runs off audio signals, but it doesn't require both audio channels to operate so I send the audio signal from the app through one channel (i.e. the right speaker) while the phone conversation runs through both. To have a conver

Shameless plug: we recently launched a service to help folks discover and evaluate different cloud computing offerings. In addition to Rackspace & EC2, you might consider Linode, GoGrid, SoftLayer and a small pile of others. It's free a

Thanks for the feedback. As opposed to meaning individual companies suck, we wanted to say, "the way to find the right online services today" sucks. It's just not simple. In the video we tried not to be too harsh on any one solution - we're

There's a really nice, and free, extension for chrome called StayFocusd that I use. https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/laankejkbhbdhmip... You can mark sites you visit as "time wasters" (e.g. news.google.com, hulu.com, HN, etc.)
