Hehe... Okay, buddy. Want proof? That "issue", which is merely a suggested adoption of someone else's function, isn't even 18 months old. You are unnecessarily hostile and misrepresent facts. As other commenters here hav

Wait... what? This is just rude, not to mention patently untrue. My last commit to Tackle was 8 hours ago. Why do you feel the need to denigrate someone else's work? No wonder there are multiple comments in this thread that refer to yo

As you noted, avoiding arcane magical characters is a primary design goal for Fish. But the alternative you mention — using the cursor keys — is indeed cumbersome and not at all what Fish users would normally do. In my case, I added a "

The article is not talking about Windows, so folks here aren't either. Why are you surprised that folks are uninterested in Windows? I've preferred Mac systems for longer than most of the HN crowd has been alive, so I understand w

Totally agree with this. As someone with a commit bit to the project, as well as a long-time user, I'd like to second the recommendation. Pixz is a terrific parallel XZ compression/expansion tool. I find it indispensable for logs

Bzip2 doesn't handle multiple cores as far as I'm aware, but tools such as pbzip2 can. I wrote about this some time ago: https://hackercodex.com/guide/parallel-bzip-compression/ That said, parallel XZ is

We disagree regarding the provenance of some of those plugins. That said, I'll take another look and see if I can do a better job at giving proper credit where it is due.

That's not a fair claim. While some of the plugins come from OMF, proper attribution is given in the license. Moreover, the majority of plugins in the repository do not, in fact, come from OMF.
