And, I'll stop spamming after this, finally got it working with the same awful video card on FF on Windows. I upgraded my video card and that still didn't work, but I told it to force WebGL in the about:config. Apparently just that setting

Got it working. Short answer, Intel igfx cards (aka, "work laptops") are garbage. Chrome WebGL worked, Firefox didn't. I got it working, albeit slowly, using OSMesa on Ubuntu. Marketing department power! Hope that helps someone.

I'm keenly interested to see if this provides a visual indication of markup or layout clutter/complexity. That would be nice for sniffing out UI design smells, particularly in big enterprise portals. Sadly, when I launch the tool it seems t

I really enjoyed the Gambit system. It felt a lot, at times, like playing with other people in that you'd have those "noooooo, don't do that!" moments (despite them being unanticipated use cases, effectively). You'd also have your "other

This is a really interesting approach. I've been reading http://jeff-vogel.blogspot.com/ for a while now and the whole DRM argument there has been that there's realistically a threshold on how much you make on a game before it pretty muc

Grats guys. One of my favorite web services, ever. One day when my actual job keeps me a bit less busy, I'll be upgrading my service and using it even more.

I built a little hobby poetry editor on Heroku in my spare time and I was really concerned that, although I have no ads or anything, the poems were hard to focus on with everything going on around them. So, I made a little button called "R

From the title, I thought this was going to be more like "how to arrive at the price for your SaaS Application" but it's more like "how to choose the price model for your SaaS Application" which I think is actually easier and less interesti

Nothing could be more exciting than "porting" traditional arcade/console concepts to this new world of location-aware devices. Hope I'm not going too off topic here, but where are the games that overlay, for example, an MMO experience on t

That's how I was thinking as well. So, would it make more sense (fiscally, not politically) to just impose or increase a tax to fund the 5th day--worked out to pretty much the same cost as people would have to pay for local childcare? Same

I've done the Ubuntu GUI-based in-place upgrade for the last three releases, if I count back correctly. Aside from the usual point issues in peripheral things that show up when you agree to use a beta (spotty sound in one old game, e.g.),

I was interested that income level was not considered as part of the potential correlation effect. Perhaps they imply that education level approximates this, but we do know that income level is relevant because of the higher "at checkout"

This was interesting inside view. One thing that I did notice is the statement that the level of changes on the MSFT side was causing him grief. I'd be curious, as a follow-up, to see if he continues to develop on Linux. It seems like he

I read voraciously as a child because I respected and modeled my parents and they read voraciously. As single-income, lower middle class Americans we couldn't afford a lot of popular luxuries but they would never turn down buying a book-

Slackware 3.0 was my introduction to Linux in Jr. High. I definitely learned a lot. Although most "friendlier" distros weren't around then, even if they were I hope I would have still started with slack. I use Ubuntu now in part because m

One word: games. Consoles have really stepped it up, but a lot of people still use Windows at least partially because of hardware accelerated 3D gaming. I don't see that being Google's netbook OS focus, or many people porting such things
