This paper (from the same research as his book on high end culinary organizations) is worth a read https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/0001839214557638 - he talks about "negotiated joining" which is

5G barely exists and mostly is the same price as 10Gb. 2.6Gb is taking off and mostly replacing 1Gb, but try to find a 5Gb switch, there really arent any, and most appear to be 10Gb switches with 5Gb PHY in them.

Codex is pretty good at Rust with x86 and arm intrinsics too, it replaced a bunch of hand written C/assembly code I was using. I will try Qwen and Kimi on this kind of task too.

Yubikey can require touch, and Secretive for Apple Secure enclave can require touch with fingerprint id. Some people disable these, it depends exactly on your use case.

Software security heavily favours the attacker (ex. its much easier to find a single vulnerability than to patch every vulnerability). Thus with better tools and ample time to reach steady-state, we would expect software to remain insecure.

This is not about best practises, or something that changed, this has always been something you need to do to make CTR mode actually secure. It was an actual mistake to hard code the IV.
