Do you accept suggestions for missing tools? I've noticed that Surge [0] was missing, it's a softsynth made by the same dev that now works on Bitwig Studio. 0: https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/

PSA for all Riot/Element Android users: RiotX came out of beta too soon. Voice and video calls don't seem to be implemented in non-DM encrypted rooms. So if you created an e2e room and invited someone there, you can no longer call

Every time I read comments about Gentoo it's either about systems unexpectedly getting broken after an update, which supposedly requires considerable amount of effort to fix, or I read about how extremely stable Gentoo systems are and

Thanks, though now I see I can't create sub-sub-tasks and so on, so it's only hierarchical to one level only. Is that correct?

Oh nice, thanks! I wish more services would do that. (btw there's a typo, should be --user-agent)

One of the downsides is that if you have curl set to not use a user agent, it (along with many such services) won't work. So curl --user-agent "" wttr.in just serves you unformatted HTML.

Strictly speaking, I'm interested in comments which cover technology. That's the content I learn from and I consider that to be more on the side of documentation rather than opinion. Why not just have one account for such content

In all fairness, if you're so concerned with posting sensitive content, then why not create a throwaway account? It's easy on HN. You don't even need an e-mail address. Why risk the magnificent foundation of HN (its comments)

This looks pretty cool. I've been looking for a to-do app with subtasks on Android. But in what format does Tasks.org export in? As in: Would I also be able to edit / modify the tasks on the terminal on my desktop?

Does anyone here notice the stylistic similarity to The Matrix? Both featured a protagonist with a trench coat and black shades. I wonder if The Matrix inspired the design team of Deus Ex in some ways.

Wow, apparently Imgur is now redirecting their plain image links to pages which _do_ require JS for viewing. Thus, Imgur has now been removed from the list of image hosts that I use (and I suggest others to do so as well) Instead, here'

I hate that self-hosting your mail servers is a huge hassle and will most likely get you on spamfilters even though you haven't spammed anyone.

I re-uploaded that image to a host that doesn't require JS to view an image, because requiring JS to view an image is peak JS stupidity. https://i.imgur.com/yvA5Eiz.jpg

Very interesting! I hadn't heard of Conduit before. So, if that's available, why not use Conduit as a candidate for the p2p-matrix? Wouldn't it be a better choice than Dendrite? AFAIK Mozilla is already heavily pushing Rust i
