I'm not sure why this is being downvoted--I mean, it seems like a relevant comment to me. People who skim credit cards at gas stations obviously try to use them quickly for some easy gain before going out and buying a $5000 tv. Movie

I go to movies during off times--like take part of a day off and go during the day. A couple of times, I was the only one in the theater!

Shut your mouth--I can't keep charging $250/hr. unless people BELIEVE! But seriously, I just came off a project last year that used Hadoop "because" and for no other discernible reason. I personally did a ton of studyin

There is a lot of question about whether Amazon's astronomical PE is warranted as well.

(1) Secret ballots are important so your union rep doesn't come by with his buddies and beat you senseless for not voting as your were instructed to. (2) Tyranny of the majority is a living hell.

That's total out and out bullshit and I'm surprised anyone dared post that on here. We're intelligent people you know and the "Muh Russia" narrative is not only dead, it is also buried. It was an out and out lie t

Also, you can't just stuff a ballot box--the number of people voting has to match the count of registered voters, so if you are stuffing you have the problem of also dealing with somehow getting rid of the legitimate ballots.

I think decent paper ballots combined with machine counting, combined with voter ID verification (yes, I went there), combined with some kind of reliability program for poll workers would be a full spectrum kind of solution. It's not

I'm just curious how much money you have made with that technique? Most places I have worked that pay anything decent don't host public code on github. It seems like great advice until I stopped and thought about it and realized

What I have seen is that devs start fulltime at the office and as they gain experience at the company and the trust level builds, then they start working remotely a couple days a week. Some people become indispensible and then want to move

I had hoped that by now a lot more developer jobs would become remote because why not? Everyone commuting is wasting a lot of resources for dubious value. But instead, I have seen remoting as counter to the trend--managers want dev teams

Sad the world we live in. We need the world to reach for Western standards of openness, freedom, and dignity and put people before profits. Instead, I see us altering our way of life to the least common denominator of state coercion.

It's easier to rule over people who live in fear, so just make more things illegal, process people through the system, and you get your total state without anyone raising an eyebrow.
