I don't buy things on Steam, but I still use it. I'm just trying to bring awareness to terms people are agreeing to but probably know nothing about (nobody ever actually reads a ToS or subscriber agreement, ever).

Warning: read the Steam Subscriber Agreement ( http://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/ ) carefully. You don't own a license to any software you "buy" in Steam. As nice as Steam is to use, being able to download software on any

I can't contradict your claim (since I don't work on mass-market sites), but I test my work on a VM with 1 CPU and 1GB ram; if the site doesn't run well in that, it's not good enough. I wish more people tested their software that way. I o

This is an understatement. Even if Github is just a place to put your toy library/project and it's not being promoted, there should be an awesome README showing off what it is meant to do (even if it doesn't do that yet, just point out tha

I like this guy. I am hopeful that this is successful in establishing a de-facto model that directly supports artists. I'm even more hopeful that if successful, that this will eliminate the need for major record labels to own all copyrigh

I see __USE_EXISTING__. I promise that's not my password, either. It seems that the server interprets this as an implication that it should keep your existing password. So I would expect if it's ever using a different value on the client

You can purchase things at Walmart with cash. It's pretty much impossible to track purchases made with cash. You can't pay with an anonymous money source on the internet, and you can't obtain that much anonymity on Facebook.

After thoroughly reading patent 1, I must conclude that this patent is invalid as are all of the others as they're obvious applications of the first (some are even described within the first, in totality). There was merit in the concept of

I don't think I'd compare Windows Updates (the most broken updating system I've ever seen) to how Chrome manages updates. I've fixed computers running IE7 and with WU disabled. I ask why and I'm told "because the popups are annoying, and

I do believe that's what I said. The comparisons the OP gave aren't useful because the trivial example does not require parallelism, so it amounts to little more than complaining about the lack of features in Node. I'd like to see some no

I'd be interested in a more in-depth look at why this might be the case, because in JS written such that V8 will optimize properly, it's generally faster.

Another gonatic? I'm immediately reminded of the days when everyone who liked D proclaimed it would overtake C++ and rule the world with terrible, contrived examples: "let me show you why my language is better than yours by completely misu
