Good read about HTTPS, but very bad title. HTTPS does NOT stop attackers. It does stop data sniffing on wirelress network, but does not prevent any server-side attack (XSS, SQL Injection, an flaw in the web application).

Yes. This is a robot answering with different options. Depending on the option choosen, it hangs up, or says "wrong number". No way to reach a human, or even to get on hold. I sent an e-mail and voice mail to the WHOIS contact as well.

This agency translates all new English names to French. Sometimes the translation catches up, but often people keep using the original English name (with a French pronunciation, English speakers would probably not recognize the word :--) )

Your hosting provider will hold you responsible. If they keep getting abuse reports because spammers use you URL shortener in their e-mails. Hosting providers (including dedicated servers) do not want to be blacklisted by popular spam lists

With GSBv2, no URL is sent to Google. They recently introduced the Lookup API where users need to send the URL, but this is not what Etsy is using.
