I agree in principle but also there's a lot of worth in having them do that in certain cases, and build scripts and the like already have that anyway. Achieving a perfect world where build tooling can only touch the things it really ne

Yeah, basically. For example, it's really good at generating critical HN comments. Whenever I have a design or an idea I formulate it to GPT and ask it to generate a bunch of critical HN comments. It usually points out stuff I hadn

None of this has to do with the complexity of macros. And no, sorry, the complexity of C++ templates far outweighs anything in Rust's macros. Templates are a turing complete extension of the type system. They are not macros or anythin

Thanks, I always forget the name. I always remember my friend getting his PS bricked after using his real last name - Nieffenegger (pronounced "NEFF-en-jur") - in his profile. It took months and several privacy-invasive chats wi

Also feels like some of these would match totally innocuous usage. "I'm overloaded for work, I'd be happy if you took some of it off me." "The client seems to have passed on the proposed changes." Both of those

Chill. This is the defacto statement, they probably just copied it from somewhere. GA was the only way to get a simple page count view without setting up a database or a backend system before we switched to serverless cloud step function l

I'm about to set off on this journey too with a code-first PCB editing suite for myself to work on. Seems like this is a good piece of prior art to reference as I need to build similar tooling. Thanks for posting!

Photogrammetry is one. Generally results in messy geometry though and tolerances get finicky. The CAD plugin in Blender is my favorite though. Need a caliper to get measurements and then I can build out my hooks/clamps/whatever. F

Haha, funny. I also wrote something similar for working with KiCad files, naming it Sexprs, also in Rust. I was worried someone had found it and posted it here. Is there a way to modify and re-emit them at runtime? Seems neat, but the readm
