If you run "Shell In A Box" on the server you can browse to a full bash prompt in a browser tab. It even has Tab-completion and works with ncurses apps too. You just run a tiny daemon and then connect to it such as https://192.168.1.1:420

Great video. I don't pretend to understand functional languages but the ideas about memory layout and DSLs for r/w of Ethernet frames seemed really elegant.

Nvidia is really pushing CUDA and OpenCL these days. If you follow the developer conferences the graphics feels like less of a priority to them.

Yes I am interested in the work around using the cadence and rhythm of typing a password as an additional ID. Apparently it is quite distinctive, given a long enough sample.

I just installed Unity in Maverick and it now comes preloaded with a workspace button that zooms out like Gnome-Shell to show you 4 desktops. Also, gnome-terminal was one of the default apps on the bar

Yes the Seagate 3TB that was also just released has a lot of heat problems. If you are looking for 3TB go for the WD

The last time I had an architecture issue was with a SNES emulator that had pieces hard coded in 32bit Asm. Pretty rare these days. Maybe things like VirtualBox too.

Yes, they don't disable 1 core out of spite, it is because of the difficulty/cost of a high yield The situation is even worse for graphics cards
