I watched the video and scrolled to the bottom of the page. I don't know what they're selling - is it just the stylus thing? Does it work with every app, or just their one? Is it only for ipads, or can I use it on an Android? Then

We have quite a few different brands available in New Zealand. I'm not sure about the US one but there's some that are really good, some not so much. It's cheap.

This seems like it's going to bugger up LastPass and it's ilk completely. That would be annoying to say the least.

OTOH, you want to know the easiest, fastest way to relaunch a recently used document? You can't, because they got rid of that.

You can't. I work from home and Now has decided that I work at the vegetable shop nearest to my house (because I visit there often I guess), and it has assigned it the location name "Work". You cannot delete this location. You can rename it

It's really a wonderful thing. I haven't yet figured out the specific magic combination of things that will guarantee it popping up on the phone though - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I really love Now but it needs to be omnipres

Regardless of the facts in this case, this screams to me that Opera is fucked, they know it, and will grab anything they can on the way down. What other conclusion could you possibly draw?

Yep. RSS is a better way to read news. If I subscribe to an RSS feed then I get to pick through the whole thing at the point where I feel like reading it. Twitter just blasts past so fast it's gone in minutes, I miss maybe 90% of my Twitter

Yeah Joel was born to demo/present, wasn't he. I saw him at Webstock some years ago and it was a fantastic presentation.

Untappd is lovely on Android, sounds like it's some way ahead of this app. I use it in New Zealand and it works great. Nothing else mentioned in this thread is close.

It's not in the OS, it's in the individual VM that Facebook is running in. Every Android app gets it's own VM - if they mess it up badly enough then it'll just crash.

Evaluated them both for quite a while: No desktop client, no note formatting, no embedded images. So no.

Why not? It works perfectly well. I've also in the past run PHP sites on Windows (behind both Apache and IIS) for real world applications too. There's too much hivemind about these things. If it works for you, then it works.

I'd love to play with a powerful Lua-enabled spreadsheet on the iPad, but the pricing is miles off. It's NZD 13.99, the same as the Apple productivity apps and Photoshop, but that price is apparently a 50% discount and the app looks a long

I'd like to see a startup specializing in web fonts that aren't completely unreadable on Windows. Seriously, most of the letters on that page are literally in multiple pieces.

Fair enough, although I actually love that it wants my photos; I let it have them off my main (Android) phone but not from any other devices. As soon as I walk in the door at home my pics are on my PC, with no effort at all. Recently when t

Yep, I work in a small, very distributed company. We use Hipchat and specifically have a tab that contains everyone in the company for that purpose. It's good to be able to occasionally just talk shit with folks you otherwise only meet once

I wanted to be all "yeah, whatever" about this, but it's fantastic. Seeing it load places from all over the world as you type in an address, and seeing how much the streets look exactly like what you might expect, is fascinating. Cool hack

Who cares? Maybe we have better things to do than play games on phones. I'm onto my second high-end Android phone and I've bought lots of apps and games. At the end of the day I couldn't give a fuck about playing games on my phone. I use th

It's not just that. You can get an idea of the traffic to the site if you watch for a while. When that information might be commercially sensitive then it could be a genuine issue. For example, nba.com has been averaging about 3 connections
