After all these years I have an understanding of HAM, haha! I always noticed the color fringing when I was a teenager but never really bothered to find out why, and besides, this was before the Internet and I didn’t have a modem until fairl

Exactly. These arguments forget how Google is flawed for large swathes of queries due to websites since a long time ago having figured out the algorithm and now game it, while Google doesn't care enough or have the expertise to solve i

I have to disagree here and provide another experience. I regularly revisit Linux for desktop (like every five years) and this time I moved 100% from Windows 11 to Fedora 37 and it's been a delight. It's not only a good desktop OS

I at least wish for an algorithm that handles this all too common banding issue. We already have formats supporting synthetic film grain (as in the format itself), so how about this? Banding can be taken care of by dithering — a very old te

Yeah I don’t know why they did that. It makes it look like the network is not a generic social network but a community-fueled news site. But maybe it is? But then it’s not a Twitter alternative. That is a popular but still mere subset of Tw

This convinces me that leaving for Fedora 100% at home was the right move. It surprised me how it’s so far a _better_ desktop OS than Windows for me. Really. There are stuff all over the place working more smoothly, even things like hardwar

At least with Windows 11, I honestly think Microsoft feel like they have a winner on their hands in terms of a next gen interface that feels more fresh and able to be modernized than Win32 that ultimately is based on a fixed display resolut
