I wonder if this is behind a failed Sonoma upgrade I saw on eBay today; Mac Mini M2 Pro sold as-is for a very decent price, about $300-$400 off despite from this year. :) Seller didn't know what was wrong with the Mac, only that it hap

This can be treated as a rumor but I heard a Microsoft developer on Mastodon hint that they had been having trouble with a patent troll, so maybe that's the reason behind the kind of obnoxious workaround too. But that they were dealing

Or should I buy a brand new M2 Mac Mini for half the price of iMac M3 if I already own a monitor. Or a M2 Pro for the same price where iMac M3 doesn’t even have a counterpart.

This makes going Mac Mini M2 Pro over iMac M3 feel real compelling. The respective prices of these models are in fact the same, so if you happen to have a good monitor already... (also the iMac M3 curiously doesn’t even have a Pro option.)

May sound ridiculous but still needs to be done to protect their identity from less reputable ripoffs that may otherwise just intentionally and exactly clone the design.

I find GPT-4 pretty amazing at coding myself. I have learnt basic R language + a particular package within it, enough to solve an emergency issue that barred us from launching a product for a coding competition within 24 hours of only havin

But isn’t that their point? That their new neural network needs less prompt crafting because it is part better at reading intent and meaning of words and part less likely to hallucinate? Sure, I also think GPT-4 can be brute forced with a v

Thank god Wojciech Wiewiórowski is a voice of reason in the middle of all this. But it’s extremely concerning that it’s reaching all the way to our final thin lines in the EU. This shouldn’t even get further than the lobbying.

Maybe they are betting on an exception to Right to be forgotten under EU law? One such exception is research or public interest use. Their service can support law enforcement so they might think they have a case. But I dunno if they actuall

I wonder if OpenAI themselves even know how the resulting black box actually operates? They know how to train it, sure, but do they understand how it approaches the end results?
