My family has been in what is now Canada since not long after our family was forced out of Scotland by the English. I myself am 7 generations removed from immigration.

Funny, I recall billing one of my last clients significantly more than almost zero to develop an app for them. Apps cost real money to build, and real money to maintain.

How about "all of the above"? Various projects have various needs, some more than one, which means you typically end up with lots of different databases.

I'm sorry, but there's something to be said for a good article. A good article isn't one whose first two sentences are flame bait. As such, I couldn't read the rest of the article.

Yeah it's certainly not limited to "superstar", it just strikes me as odd and I'm not exactly sure why it's used so often. I mean I am well aware that finding good developers is hard (always has been), but now, when it's hard to find develo

Best way I've found is to start out on hourly gigs, until you have a sense of how long certain tasks take you. With experience, you get better at estimating your time. EDIT: Oh and when you start out, if you're estimating time, double it.

Due to lack of any good metrics, I always take all "Review my startup" links with a grain of salt. I try and keep note of the ones that look interesting, but generally after perusing the site, I forget about it. Some are downright ridiculou

Agreed, it's just very hard to see quality in some of the items that get posted. That's not to take away from the effort gone into building and marketing them, I know it's hard work. I've failed in the startup world before myself. Just one
