This sort of attitude really bums me out. "Tried it!" With the current rate of technological advance, a ton of stuff that's failed (and even a lot that's succeeded) should be tried again. Frequently some incremental bu

For this particular case, this is not done using modular arithmetic. The parity values are simply rational - they might be fractional, negative, larger than 255, etc. This erasure code is not at all optimal; it only serves to teach the basi

Hey folks, this is something I and a few others have been working on for a week or two. We’ve made some really interesting challenges. If you compete, you’ll end up learning erasure coding, Diffie-Hellman key exchange, write a small program

Improving the security model of docker is mentioned. Docker is known to be currently unsafe to run untrusted containers. Does anyone know yet if Rocket plans to support running untrusted containers safely, ala sandstorm.io?

Thanks for the pointer to #4299. Unfortunately, custom asm isn't going to be nearly as fast as what we're doing, but I left a comment to that affect. As for adding options to Go TLS, it is worth filing an issue for sure. Go 1 comp

worth pointing out github.com/spacemonkeygo/errors is 100% compatible, allows you to get a source and explanation, allows for error hierarchies, allows for arbitrary user-defined error details, etc.

Yeah, this is a great description of how our errors package helps a lot. You can tie user-facing status codes and messages to errors with stack traces, and only show the user-specific message to end users. Moreover, since you can bind arbit

Having a separate process for SSL termination is of course completely doable, but was a little more challenging. We use client-side certificates for application level authentication logic, so we would have needed to side-channel the authent

My guess is that if you've written code that's hard to test in Go, it's going to be hard to write good, non-brittle tests in Python. It's not so much that you need to write code amenable to dependency-injection to write
