I can understand the sentiment of being "fed up" with the state of current phone technology, but rather then bringing back dumbphones (see also Nokia's current product range), why not make phones that have headphone jacks, re

Gandi has had a "moral clause" in their ToS in the past. Don't know if it's ever been enforced or not.

If it's just for a non public contact for a domain registrar and/or strictly similar functions I personally believe so.

If I remember right from years ago (2008-2010) the initial release of Chrome was just for Windows, and the Linux version was in beta for quite a while as just "Chromium" without much Google "cloud" integration.

I wish Signal would have a decent desktop client. I spend most of the time on a standard "computer" and not on my phone, and I'm sure others do as well.

In theory it supports WebSockets natively (now) and I've heard from others that it does work without Google Play Services.

> It's probably a violation of your game's anticheat system to try to sandbox it Funny enough I've heard claims recently that Steam/VAC detects KVM virtualization and temporary kicks from VAC games as a result.

There's uclinux, but I don't know how well it works (seems abandoned) and if there are other issues with it running on above mentioned RISC-V core.

Go ask the FSF with their questionable RYF certification. TLDR: As long as the firmware blobs are in ROM, who cares?

Right now you can buy the Talos II motherboard (or a complete prebuilt system) from Raptor Engineering, and along with it you can have a single or dual processor setup of up to 22 cores each with 4 way SMT (essentially hyperthreading). It&#

How is XFCE these days compared to MATE? (Although I use MATE with i3wm and panels disabled. I moved to MATE sometime after GNOME 3 was released and I missed GNOME 2)

I do agree that's an issue, although I wouldn't put it as drastic as you did. I was working on a Flask project many years ago and it didn't seem straightforward to "vendor" dependencies with the `pip install` paradi

Agreed. What's actually interesting (and more of a fun experiment) is exploiting and doing something useful with an embedded device running Busybox without persistent storage and a stripped down kernel.

libreboot is a fork of coreboot, so yes. But if a system supported it through reverse engineering or otherwise I don't see why running coreboot without blobs would be possible (see very old hardware for example)

The one thing that annoys me about Kitty is the lack of greyscale anti aliasing. My eyes are damaged and properly configured fonts that aren't jagged or blurry are a godsend.

This is my pet peeve with most single sign on providers. Either commercial products/services or bloated "over-engineered" solutions that are hard to customize.

I'm wary of buying ASUS due to past personal experiences (defective Z97 motherboard and GPUs) and their Canadian RMA service being a dumpster fire. The Gigabyte X570 AORUS XTREME (as another example) says in the specs > Support for
