The fact they are distinguishable on many letters is why the quest exists. See http://typewar.com/stats/typeface_pair/Helvetica_Neue/Roboto... for what letters people find easy to distinguish and not so easy.

Gondor has caching (has for a while) and background jobs will be available this week. Gondor is not a sideshow to the consulting; if anything, it's the other way around :-)

On top of what Linode offers (which, in Gondor's case is provided by Rackspace Cloud Servers) Gondor is fully managed with an automated provisioning and deployment platform. It's really another layer on top of what a VPS provider is doing.

Note, don't look on master for the majority of work. See the fresh-start branch https://github.com/pinax/pinax/commits/fresh-start (and various external apps used by Pinax)

Can you let us know (either via support@gondor.io or the #gondor channel on freenode) what problems you encountered? For some people, things go very smoothly out of the box; others hit assumptions we made that don't always apply (or aren't

Great ideas. We're also considering "one does just deploy into Gondor" but not enough people might get the reference :-)

Right, we didn't decide one day "oh, let's build a Django deployment and management solution"; we've already been doing this for two years and are now wanting to provide it for more than just our development clients and own sites.

We included "production" because this is coming out of our experience deploying and running dedicated stacks for production sites, not just hobbyist sites on shared infrastructure.

We're still working that out. Our existing clients are generally production sites requiring a dedicated stack. It will take longer to work out what our pricing on the lower-end will be.

Well, the point of the blog post wasn't to explain the project, just announce the new site; but I like the (implied) suggestion that the downloads page could have a blurb. We could put a blurb on each blog post at the side too.
