Agreed. In the past, I've used hipmunk to find a flight, and once I found myself forwarded to Orbitz, went to the airline's site and looked up the same flight manually.

Notational Velocity is great. Just point it to a dropbox folder and set it to use plain text files and you're set with syncing. There's even an equivalent program for Windows - ResophNotes http://www.resoph.com/ResophNotes/Welcome.html .

I prefer using a program like Password Safe ( http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/ ), and use a safe password that's a long sentence (with punctuation). Then I can use arbitrarily long and complex passwords for all my accounts, and not hav

I've been using this hacked-together standing desk for a week and love it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/410195/standing%20desk.jpg My feet are definitely tired around 4pm, though.

Interesting article, but what about Steve Jobs? Warren Buffet? Bill Gates? It's easy to pick a few examples of anything, but it doesn't make it a real trend.

I've read that turning down the temperature in the tank can increase the risk of Legionnaires disease. I don't know how much of a risk that actually is, though: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2009/03/turning-down-water-h...

I get the concern, but I feel like there's an entire Internet out there where a real name isn't required... The fact that you have to use your real name is apparent from the moment you sign up, and shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

The prevalence of ad-hominem attacks against Icaza is unfortunate. You can agree or not with his more-pragmatic-than-some stance towards open source software, Microsoft, etc., but the fact remains that the guy is a first-rate builder and h
