Based on my experience with one of candidates who prepared for not even MIT, Stan but next level like cornell and duke. I would say th would not consider IITians (Just for the college) unless the idea is good and viable... my thought..

EDIT ADD: There is no additional issues in managing remote worker than it is with regular in office . It is just kind of issue, it is definitely manageable.

This and the top comment nails it down that if your team is not delivering the stuff in remote model then they most probably wont deliver in collocated space as well. I am not very sure why people still refer to year 2000 time of offshoring

This is why i have server class refurbished machine handy as working backup so that you can restore if ther service is not restored with in few minutes. Or have another copy of vm/db in other provider like rackspace or something
