> not only do they refuse, they are getting rid of all GPLv2 code in favor of BSD code. This claim is completely fictitious. We started an effort a few years ago to migrate Mono Develop code to LGPL and MIT/X11 (not BSD) from GPL. Our

We don't own any patents on Mono, so licensing it under GPLv3 would not provide any additional patent protection to anyone. That said, the code donated by Microsoft has been under Apache2 which does provide patent protection, just like GPLv

Hey, Xamarin dev here... Not that I want to defend Diablo-D3 (he's a troll), I do want to make a few slight corrections to your comment. 1. You are correct in that Microsoft's .NET VM performs better than Mono overall (at least in the gener

Lucky to have such good libraries available? Are you KIDDING ME!?!? I grew up in relatively poor small towns most of my life, where the town library was lucky if it had more than a thousand books. Certainly had no internet. But you know wha

Jesus Christ, are you my mirror image!? Seriously. I'm so sick of people whining about how I'm "so lucky" to have my job. To hear these people talk about how lucky I am is a huge fucking insult because they act is if it just fell in my lap.

"But what you do expect is a government that isn't run by the special interests." -- Barack Obama LOL. Says the man who gets money from special interest groups. The liberal left are all about special interest groups.

Who's giving them any ill will? Where is this Red Hat hate? I used to work for Novell/SUSE and even we didn't hate Red Hat. So I can't imagine who, in the Linux community, is hating Red Hat.

Is software freedom defined differently on phones vs tablets? Why does Android 3.x not being for phones make any difference at all to this conversation?

I think one of the biggest issues people are facing with MonoDevelop is stability (we get a lot of feedback from users that they get a lot of crashes). There's definitely a lot of work/polish that needs to go into MonoDevelop and it's somet

That is obviously not the case as Microsoft immediately sold back the Novell patents to Attachmate and so cannot participate in any offensive action.
