I subscribe to the Times for its news content. No way I was going to pay an additional $6 a month for more opinions. Frankly, the NYT's opinion page already borders on propaganda.

That's why many of us dumped banks for credit unions. Most credit unions offer free checking accounts and much better interest rates and customer service. The major banks were rocked by the 2007 meltdown and are still trying to recover

It's the correct area code for the city and zip code, but otherwise a completely randomly generated phone number. rand(201,799)-rand(1000-9999).

Working with the guy who runs guerrillamail.com, I just added a custom domain for those who are blocked from accessing guerrillamail for the temporary email address. I plan to rotate the email custom domain monthly.

The email address is based off the randomly generated name, with extra characters added. The possibility of a conflict is extremely low.

disconnect.me now has an ipad app. I've been using it to block ads (an extra fee). It works fairly well, but doesn't catch everything.

I travel a lot and I haven't seen these machines in a while. I thought they were all phased out in favor of the radio-wave types. Regardless, I always opt out too.

I've had a long history of headaches and ibuprofen is something I'm taking a few times a week and have been since I was 11 or 12. I've never had stomach issues.

There is a lot more interesting data in the NTD that I wish someone with more programming skills than me could put together in a graphical way. For instance, you can calculate the amount of CO2 emitted per passenger and per passenger mile.

In Michigan, a speeding ticket is a civil infraction, not a criminal offense, so the legal standard is preponderance of the evidence , not beyond a reasonable doubt , as the slide deck says. I suspect it's the same in California.
