Hey there! Just sign up as a developer, and during the signup process it'll ask what API you want to request certification in.

See, I'm personally of the same opinion. I couldn't figure it out, but then it hit me. It's the same line of logic that the military uses in their security clearances. Back in the day I used to work for a JAG lawyer, and have

I guess I suppose that by privacy laws you meant something different than simply the ability to be given the information collected about you. I was also coming at it from a governmental aspect versus private as well.

They don't in the slightest. Check out Sweden's FRA laws. They're even more invasive than PRISM.

Ironic as one of their member states (Sweden) has a potentially even more wide reaching program. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FRA_law

There's a lot of enterprise focused startups that deal almost exclusively through their API. Gnip, among others, comes to mind. As for your second point, hiring and managing an integration team for the early revenue is nice, but the point i

This is totally anecdotal, but isn't the US (especially at the college level) more focused on a "broader" education? My cousin got a BA in international relations in the US and then went and attended school in Spain. Something like only 1/4

Good lord why? There are so many other tech hubs where housing is reasonable. How are you supposed to do your most inspired work if you can't get a decent night's sleep.

I feel like the argument he makes is very circular though. He lambaste the rich for investing in low risk (government bonds), and then says that we need more taxes to support more government R&D. Perhaps the answer isn't a return to a d

+1 for bluehost. I put my personal site on there and occasionally use it for other small projects. It's really good for what it is.

I agree. I for one get a lot of joy and happiness out a great meal. It seems a lot of people in this thread are taking a very utilitarian approach to food, but for a lot of us, food is more than fuel. It's an experience to be enjoyed.

Motherjones also fails to recognize that MANY states already have mandatory "cooling off periods" where if you buy a gun on say Monday you can't pick it up until later in the week. http://www.ehow.com/list_6745387_illinois-gun-license-requ

Is it possible that the rise from 2001 to 2011 has to do with the recession rather than a general upward trend? Would it be possible to see statistics from 2001 to say 2007 instead? Or even better the last 20 years.

That's interesting. I actually grew up in Chicago, but have most recently lived in Iowa. I don't have much of a "chicago" accent with the notable exception of saying "rough" and "roof" exactly the same way.

This is completely anecdotal, but I've noticed very little difference after moving from Iowa to Boulder, CO although they're considered different dialects here. However, I can pick out people who live here from Texas or California almost in

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but startups are hard. There's lots of ups and downs and getting people to buy into a vision of the world is a lot more comforting when you're working long days and weekends than thinking "gee I lov
