Fair enough. Still, it doesn't look like enenews is the place to go, to get balanced, objective reporting.

Looking at the homepage of enenews.com, it looks like the website has a pretty strong bias. I wouldn't put much stock in this photo, in fact I doubt Tepco doctored this image themselves.

I agree, great talk. Sorry but I can't help be curious about this, what were the results of the drinking game?

So is this close to a true color image or is it still way off? If it's close, I think it's fantastic. For me, part of what would make any desert more psychologically tolerable would be a greater variety of color.

I accept that the world is already a biologically menacing place however it isn't yet full of all the virus that are currently being conceived in my head. For example I might decide I really don't like the Jews (hypothetical). I could proba

It's good to know that some thought and consideration has gone into safety. Though this does just seem like a temporary measure that will keep the white hats in check. The goals of a lot of these companies is democratization. Would you agre

Does anyone have any good ideas on how we might mitigate the negative consequences of this technology? I recently dismissed the problems of people printing firearms in a 3d printer as not really being much of a threat as currently firearms

Yeah I was thinking of landing it without the cables, inside a protective box and then opening the box once all the dust and debris has settled or blown away. You wouldn't need any airbags as the current system is able to achieve a descent

Apparently according to this video [1] (about half way through) the capsule is a lifting body however I was thinking of something like a simple guided arrow, perhaps some fins that are extended on a telescopic shaft. You could possibly then

Can someone explain to me why it isn't possible to steer the capsule with the heat shield such that it can be used to deplete virtually all of its speed? I can imagine a system where the capsule pitches up near the end of its run so that it

Ha, true. Although I honestly think in some ways your posts are 'more timeless' as I think they're more considered. From what I remember most of the fables are sound advice about morality in general but there's also a recurring theme of not

Yeah I worry about that too. I think it might play out in a similar fashion to the entertainment industry where the legitimate companies are restricted, sued and legislated against while the illegal file sharers/manufacturers essentially co

I agree. I'm of the opinion that the effects of low-cost additive manufacturing (or however you like to refer to it) is going to take a lot of people of surprise and happen much sooner than people think. We're right at the beginning of this

Tangential: I recently re-read a book of Aesop's fables that I had as a child. I was surprised that the 'morals' of the stories are often not what we might regard today as good advice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesops_Fables#List_of_som

I think a generous prize system for new medicines could be incentive enough. This could also eliminate the need to stop free dissemination of manufacturing knowledge, meaning people the world over could get the medicine they need for free.
