Yeah, you are right of course. I'm not sure why I compared a Wh/mile figure (which honestly amazes me) to a an average output figure. An average hour of usage would probably be ~250wh on the bike and more like 10Kwh in the car. I

Hope! There isn't much other reason to be excited about it at this point, tbh. Almost all such efforts fail before getting to 20k units of production.

So the car alternative is only 2.5x as much power as a bike, goes 100% the speed of a car, and is air conditioned? That seems like a worthwhile tradeoff.

I've been following Georgia's data for a while now, and I actually think they are closer to Louisiana than you realize. Over the last few weeks, it wasn't unusual to see counties stop growing for days at a time only to sudden

Also anecdotal, but I had less than 3 up and down about 11 years ago. 10 years ago it was 3 symmetric. Now its 100 symmetric, and was (briefly) 1gb symmetric with another provider last year. Its definitely improving on average.

I agree, the weak fitness features were really what killed them. The PT and PTS improved it a lot, but it was really too little, too late.

That's actually really impressive. I didn't realize any of these efforts were that far along. It will be interesting to see how long certification takes.

At the beginning of this, Musk said that he didn't feel like new companies (including his) could get production going in meaningful quantities by the time that they would be required. I see nothing from Tesla that indicates that has ch

I've used BlueJeans extensively and I completely agree. I believe that it doesn't have a free tier though and this limits its adoption. I also do not believe that it claims to have E2E encryption or anything like that.

I think he is asking if it might improve the performance overall, not necessarily about sterilization. There has been some talk of using salt, for example: https://www.businessinsider.com/mask-coated-in-salt-neutrali...

That is not at all a fair assessment of what happened. I won't blame specific groups (there is plenty of fault to go around), but it wasn't the administration that made things partisan there.

I'm aware of that, but the comment blamed this on needing to be "treated like operating an airliner". In reality, tourist helicopters are much better (and more expensive) than an R44 principally for reasons other than the FAA

It isn't accountants. It is all the financial advice and teaching that focuses on Price to Earnings as a meaningful way to measure valuations at the exclusion of a lot of other equally meaningful metrics.

I think that is small-think. The technical solution is only part of the problem and scaling up all systems to meet the .1% case seldom makes sense. They were smart to save 5-10%.

I still think the comparison is useful. Cars and their (horrible) rate of serious injury and death seem to be the worst thing that people readily accept. Showing that covid-19 can be worse than that can be enlightening. And it obviously bec
