Not to forget that you might have multiple part-timers on your team who are doing different work hours. The shared work time dimishes which makes it more difficult to hand over tasks etc.

Another reason is that longer trucks are harder to overtake on motorways, the longer the truck the higher the risks for accidents. Europe has smaller highways and country roads. Furthermore truck logistics in the USA is mainly based on FTL

I believe in the great resignation within the leisure/restaurant industry. Waiters and chefs live mostly off tips, and the COVID limitations have deprived them from those earnings.

IMHO quite generous by them, in my former companies you skipped the raise talk if you joined less than 9 months ago. Makes sense, because you just negotiated your salary on entry.

Italy could have been one country that introduced coffee to Europe, but let's not forget that the first Austrian Kaffeehaus opened in the 17th century as well (using coffee stashes obtained after the 2nd Turkish siege in 1680). What tr

Wouldn't it make more sense to convert the video to greyscale and e.g. detect significant changes of brightness during frames and store them as vector coordinates (% of the playtime, brightness delta)?

Let me ask you a question: if you had the choice between drinking 4 espressos or 1 cappuccino, what would you choose if you wanted to sleep well at night? If you follow PGs logic, it shouldn't matter because 1 cappuccino is the same am

No - my point is that some posters in this thread overestimate the monetization potential of exposure. Ultimately, it doesn't matter if the project is for profit or pro bono - either way you commit to unpaid work. Volunteering doesn&#

To all the folks who would do it "for the exposure": my partner volunteered as a graphic designer for a well-known European charity event that featured a former US president, known music groups and fashion designers as pro bono ac

Your photos might appear on this Netflix show, which doesn't mean that you/your brand will do so. Or it might appear in the closing credits that are usually skipped.

I think relational "age brackets" play a huge role in the incel phenomenon. Let's assume that by convention the male partner in an adult relationship has to be 0 to 6 years older than the female. This means that a female of

Because your activity contributes to the appreciation. A good restaurant attracts a lot of people, which in turn attracts other businesses (think of bookstores next to popular cafés). This increases the worth of the property.

Maybe it is an "ALDI" job. Aldi is known for overpaying their shopkeepers by about 30%, but expects them to do the work of at least 2 shopkeepers at other stores. Still makes sense from a business side.

The problem with Germany and many parts of Europe is Nearshoring. Why overpay a developer at Berlin if Polonia is just 200km away? Same goes for Vienna and Hungary. I'm sure silicon valley salaries wouldn't skyrocket that much if

Consultancies/Contractors can be career boosters, because they have a rather high attrition rate, which allows you to grow into more advanced positions faster than in a product shop (e.g. Dev -> tech lead or software architect). You

You should also consider the liquidity risk when selling a house. The MSFT stock is traded thousands of times per day, so there is strong consensus on its price. A house like yours in a neighborhood like yours is maybe traded once per year,
