Why is everybody gossiping -- both here and on proggit -- about a discussion list thread from April 2005? (Yes, it's a rhetorical question, but if there's a reason why this has suddenly become timely I'd actually like to know.)

I just disagree with you that it is interesting at all. It has the illusion of interestingness because it's about Twitter -- hey, it's web! it's Twitter! i do that stuff for a living! -- but it is completely lacking in substance. What do

It's a publicity stunt. Of course, every time a company engages in a publicity stunt like this, the same debate we're all having takes place. Pro: "Wow, what a great campaign!" Con: "Pshaw, it's just a gimmick." Pro: "Oh really? It got you

Once you get used to using the address bar as a search field, it's addicting. Right now, for example, I'm working on a project in Django, so I'll type things like "django queryset" in my browser bar and it will pop me straight through to th

Could the journalist not have spoken with someone at Google prior to publication of this article? It's just irresponsible journalism that they clearly did not.

What I was really hoping to find here was a travel search site that let me find cheap fares without necessarily having firm dates in mind. To me, Tripeedo just puts the functionality of kayak in a slightly different UI, as opposed to offe

Unless I missed something, this is exactly what django-compress already does for the Django framework: http://code.google.com/p/django-compress/ We just started using it in a project I'm working on. Most excellent.
