Here's the perfect example for one of my suggestions: I just went to the pogdesign/cat site and saw there's an Under the Dome series coming up, but not for another 4 months. Can't add it to followshows yet though to get reminded about it cl

While I'm not a fan of discussions about downvoting in HN comments, I did downvote him because I felt like blatantly admitting to downloading TV shows with no further comments on the site in question didn't really help the discussion at all

The site is about tracking the shows you watch and when there's new episodes, and providing links where you can legally stream or purchase episodes. It looks to me like the people behind the site are attempting to create a legitimate web si

This is pretty much exactly the kind of site I was looking for a few years back and couldn't find, so I started to work on my own (but never got very far). Let me see if I can come up with a few of my ideas: Allow me to tell my followshows

Say I'm on Twitter's web site. Most of the time, I just want to browse tweets. So don't pollute the site with a new tweet from that I rarely need. Sometimes I want to send a tweet though. Refresh the whole page (with a trip the server), jus

There's 2 ways of looking at this: What's the investment he's put into product he's trying to sell (in this case, none), and what's the value of the product to the person who wants it? Obviously, economics is about what the buyer is willing

A few more ideas: - Growl/Notification center notices for new stories (optionally configurable by a certain points threshold). - Subscribe to certain topics (keyword based searches). Only get notified when certain topics have stories. - Ign

I just compiled a build and tried it out. It looks like marking something as read right now just affects the dot icon next to a story with no way to filter out read stories, even after a refresh. Having different hotkeys for mark as read an

Looks great. I have a suggestion though: Beyond individually marking stories as read and the 'mark all as read' button, also offer a quick way to breeze through the list and mark lots of them as read. By 'read', I mean 'don't show them to m

To be honest, those accounts in those pics don't convince me of anything. Most of the frequent posters from those domains post plenty of other links to other sites. They were created years apart. Two of them seem to post extremetech.com and

So the government has mysterious shadow figures that communicate with tens of thousands of newspapers, TV and radio stations and major news web sites, telling them what not to cover, and somehow this has never gotten out?

I think what they're suggesting is that their internal strategizing on how to spam people with as many poor resumes as possible should be restricted, while they're quite happy to keep sending them to their entire mailing list at any time. T
