I am not surprised. Lots of jobs are going to be done by AI very soon, and it's unlikely that a human will be able to get a job without pretending to be an AI. So it looks like these students are well-prepared for the future.

My former boss had an employee like that. He was prolific, but his code was extremely convoluted and had complicated solutions to simple problems.

My feeling is that GOFAI had a real problem with representing uncertainty, and handling contradiction. So, we tried to approach it theoretically, with fuzzy logic and probability and so on. But the theoretical research on uncertainty didn&#

There is also regression to the mean. Human experts can sort out through advice and by reflecting on it, pick only the best. ChatGPT will give you, at best, average opinion. It won't help you get to the top, because the top is an outli

I think you misunderstood what I said. I would gladly pay premium/subscription for videos that are OK with it. I don't care about those that don't, they just won't get my subscription.

Why it wouldn't be? Indexing is fair use. I think where it gets murky with fair use would be if AI could actually plagiarize the book, but other than that, it should be fair use.

Neoliberalism: Free trade and globalization is good, state ownership and state economic investment bad. Germany was certainly less damaged by neoliberalism (which is an ideology, actual practice might be different) than the US and UK, who w

Exactly. All the big economic success was due to state coordination and intervention, not (neo-)liberalism. Liberalism might work for a smaller country that becomes a trading hub (like Singapore), and uses low taxes as a sort of parasitic s

I think whether something is painful or not depends on the perspective. Humans can voluntarily suffer lots of pain for a good cause. And vice versa, small things can be extremely painful if we don't understand them. (Edit: In particula
