For me Damien's announcement to abandon CouchDB landed like a bomb. CouchDB is one of the key technologies of our hosting service. It is a great to see one of the big players (Cloudant) to step in.

Great idea, but how is this made into a circle?

Absolutely amazing. This technology can be used for many other offline databases. He provides the tools for indexing, compressing and everything needed for the reader. Make sure to read his corresponding blog post: http://antimatter15.com/

A pretty basic write up. Static caching is standard these days. The article doesn't help with speeding up today's dynamic sites.

The hhvm is some nice piece of software, but it also takes many resources. This will always remind me to be very careful when making a design decision, like what language to use for project.

That is exactly how I understood the problem. The term "doesn't scale" is far to fuzzy to describe the problem. I also see no mechanism in CouchDB to solve this. If such a problem exists, I expect a company to react with architectural impro

Losing data is one of the most serious bugs. When I am using a DBMS in production, I have to rely on it 100%. I believe the complains made could be real because MongoDB is highly optimized for speed. But, as long as there is no documented

What a great tip. I am running gitweb for the hosted node.js apps on cloudnode. It looks really nice now and is a clean and easy solution.
