I never heard about that's a problem. I checked several popular sites, Google, Amazon, Apple, Bank of America. They all use RSA. Do you have examples for secure site (under this aspect) and background info?

domain.com/artist for seo and easier handling. If you are allowing user generated content and logins, than go for artist.domain.com because it is the only way to isolate cookies.

Was it listed on the result page or did you get it as an auto-completion result? This first is unlikely, the second is normal as Chrome mixes in local results from the history store and the bookmark store.
