As a side note, there is something cooking. In the last weeks, Oracle has been replacing Sun's copyright messages with their own all over in Java. This even effected Eclipses startup code.

Oh, this is bad. You should rethink, maybe try something totally different. When you have the killer idea, it is still time to restart. Didn't you think about it, when YC did a review and decided against your project? Anyway kudos for keepi

When you are targeting multiple platforms, it pays to choose an abstraction framework like titanium or phonegap. Using these frameworks, your app can easily be ported.

Great article. I always wondered how this is done. I was aware of varnish and nginx, the missing link was the patched bind9 version. Many thanks. (btw. a little typo: varnish forwards to nginx on port 90 -> should be port 91)

Great advise, but only half of the truth. I am waiting for part 2. The last sentence requires at least the same attention as that what has already been written.

It is not only the physical storage, but also the software that can read the data which matters. So choose your formats wisely.

I agree and more sadly Wave in the form of Etherpad would have succeeded. A more de-centralized architecture with many Etherpad servers would have been perfect. Company related traffic wouldn't have left the LAN and of-site traffic would ha
