Lack of device drivers mainly, I would assume. Could be something else, I know there were projects attempting to do things with Darwin in the past and none were successful.

Honestly the whole app could probably use a UI overhaul. The button looking different than other social logins isn’t the problem; the app looking completely alien to any version of iOS released in the last 10 years is the problem.

Is this including some kind of tax credit or subsidy or did you actually manage to get them to come down like $8k below MSRP??

It’s partly bc it would be much easier for Japan to become fully independent w/ hydrogen whereas with batteries they would be reliant on other countries to produce them. So the Japanese government prefers hydrogen.

Still, even at an $8k difference you’re looking at $150/mo at a lower interest rate than most would get for 60 mo. Most car buyers don’t want a $600/mo payment. Yes, average new car price is something like 38k but a lot of that is

8k is a massive difference. You can also negotiate on price, you’re looking at MSRP or a dealer price and they will almost always go lower. There’s also always the option of ordering a vehicle instead of buying one already in dealer invento

That is a bad position for Toyota to be in then; this aggressive shift in consumer preference to SUVs and crossovers has been incredibly stupid and bad for just about everything. The way this stuff is regulated and taxed probably doesn’t en

Subsidizing hybrids and PHEVs in addition to EVs absolutely makes sense and would make a bigger impact in short term emission reductions. Other companies aren’t lobbying for this because they sell very few hybrids (and often don’t even have

So the issue is mainly that it’s a quick/cheap conversion of the existing Lexus UX to an EV? That doesn’t sound like a good user experience but it’s not necessarily a bad vehicle from a mechanical standpoint either. I assume it’s more

I think the idea that they’re struggling isn’t exactly accurate. It’s mostly a matter of scaling up manufacturing capacity and they don’t want to do it for a market that’s the size that it currently is. They also know demand for ICE & h

They sell very few Tundras & Sequoias, I’m not so sure about the other vehicles. Hybridized trucks and body on frame SUVs are coming within this year though. They simply invest less into vehicles they sell fewer of. The Corolla and Camr

This only works for people in cities. IMO the pandemic proved that pressuring people into moving to cities isn’t a great idea either — a more distributed system is a good thing for a variety of reasons. We can have both EVs and improved pub

Eh. Many EVs on the market are shitty. It’s not much more expensive than a Chevy Bolt and those are catching fire often enough Chevy has told everyone not to charge unattended or overnight and to park them outside. That being said I don’t k

If you only provide incentives as tax credits for buying new EVs, you’re really only getting a small % of a wealthier segment of the population to buy them. And in many cases there are problems; look at GMs current predicament with the Bolt
