Any vimmers out there who would stay with emacs after giving it a fair shake? Any converts from emacs to vim? I want to hear your story. Thanks.

That's exactly what an INTJ would say. If you were an INTP, you wouldn't have posted that because you would've been second-guessing yourself. :)

Same addictions here, minus the snowboarding. I really need to be more active. That might cancel out some of the effects of said addictions.

If everything were available in microformats, wouldn't that dramatically lower the barrier to entry for search startups who want to be the next Google? That said, wouldn't it be in Google's best interest to keep microformats at bay? Natural

Serious question: Doesn't the fact that Twitter has been running a highly trafficked Ruby website for a while now nullify all arguments that "Ruby's not ready"? Sure, we all know that Ruby could be better . But isn't it ready now?

Yeah, I'm noticing a pretty even split between the MB/MBP vs ThinkPad. Guess that means you can't go wrong either way unless the type of work you'll be doing depends on an OS-specific feature. For example: Consider what mobile platforms you

1.9 is a development release. Ruby uses odd numbered points for those. The refined, "stable" version of 1.9 will be 2.0.

Well, thank goodness for Dr. Raibert. And while we're at it, thank goodness for Albert Einstein. It's the people who would exploit the technology developed by these benign characters that frightens me. So it is perfectly reasonable to be pa

I admire your optimism. It is indeed exciting technology, but I think this will have military applications long before it is available for public use. For now, Roomba will have to do.

So here's the question I have with sites like this: What are the legal implications of people submitting other people's personal contact info to the service without permission? Are there not privacy laws that come into play here? Not saying

So, question. I often see people claiming that Ruby is replacing Java in some domains, but I don't often see the same thing said of Python. Is Ruby (the language itself, not the implementation) somehow seen as "ahead" of Python in some way?
