I do. We use python in our lab for simple scripts (backups and doing things our test SW isn't capable of, like HTTP comm), aggregating data, and some small web tools. I'm at one of the big three, where getting a *nix machine on the network

It does make a difference, but there's a very good chance a lot of traffic goes to nearby servers when you live in the bay area.

Some of our people felt it here in Warren, MI (just outside of Detroit). They were in an 8-story tower. Didn't feel anything on the first floor of my 3-story building next door.

The advantage is that you can seamlessly move between LAN and WAN, and your sync speed will seamlessly move with you.

Glad to see planning is happening quite early this year. I hope it turns out to be the best PyCon yet - this will be my first! Any sort of ETA available for registration info and sign-up dates? Gotta start getting through the BigCo red tape
