You should be able to drive it to a power outlet or docking station for charging. Or maybe it should drive there itself?

Sounds interesting. Can you give an example of how this might work? It hadn't occurred to me that you could do such a thing without physically exchanging money. Everything I can think of off the top of my head would involve tracking code

Instead of charging a flat setup or monthly fee, have you thought about pivoting your business model so that customers can order through your app, and you charge a percentage fee to the restaurant owner? I think skeptical restaurant owners

Great idea. A friend and I were talking about the need for this kind of product a few days ago. Your implementation looks very nice.

He has data that indicates 73% of total apps on the store are paid. He then bases his remaining calculations on that paid app number.

Pretty funny. Although I kinda hoped it was something else. Like a cool point of sale system that could be extended by its operators to provide fun new functionality with an intuitive graphical interface.

Surprising that Webrick is faster than Thin and Mongrel. How can this be?

I used to do the same thing, but I missed out on a lot of good emacs shortcuts. Today I use the dvorak version of Xah Lee's layout. You get vim-like navigation by holding Meta. http://xahlee.org/emacs/ergonomic_emacs_keybinding.html

You can try what the 37signals guys recommend at http://gettingreal.37signals.com/ch06_From_Idea_to_Implement... 1. Brainstorm 2. Paper sketches 3. HTML + CSS mockup 4. Code

Here are some comments from a friend of mine: "What is this? Why do I have to sign up? Why does it have zero info" I think he has a point. Maybe some screenshots on the front page would be helpful.

Ah. I thought it might be an easter egg, not a bug. I will go ahead and drop him a line though.

I don't know jrockway, but somehow it seems like I'm logged in as him/her for a split second. Usually if I refresh a few times it goes away. I wonder if the first three letters of our usernames being the same has any relation to the issue.

We want the web to be open and free while we keep everything we do on our end closed and make tons of money. Oh, and don't let anyone else try to profit from their proprietary stuff either (unless we get a cut).

Aren't encryption algorithms measured by the amount of computing power it would take to crack them? If so, given a limitless power source, we could be in for some real privacy trouble, correct?

This Cubby guy's biggest expense was the $29k he blew on programmers. It's crazy how many people are trying to make money on the iPhone and are either not programmers, or don't have the drive to actually learn how to write code.

1 tip for writing anything on the Internet: 1. Turn off that annoying snapshots hover-over-link-and-see-a-screenshot crap.
