We immigrated from the bay area to British Columbia a few years ago. We pay taxes in the US and Canada . Taxes aren't much higher in Canada. And we've used the health care a lot and honestly it's excellent and you don't

I read a lot and I use both ebooks and physical books. I'm pretty happy with my Kobo e-reader. The screen is perfect for text even in the sun, the back lighting means I can read in the dark, and I can move between reading on the Kobo,

For me audio books don't replace regular books, they supplement them, by expanding my reading time and by getting me to read books I'd otherwise not. I often end up with both the physical or e-book plus the audio book. Sometimes I

Kind of wasteful, no? I prefer to buy stuff that lasts, even if it costs more.

I'm of the opposite opinion. While I enjoy the look and feel of a book, I'm tired of carrying them around when I travel and moving them when I, well, move. Best of all I can sit on my couch, wine glass in hand, and seconds after r

My problem with airplanes is claustrophobia. After years of fairly-regular flying the claustrophobia suddenly grew intense --- and it has stayed at that level --- after being jammed into a non-reclining back-row middle seat on a flight from

Agreed. I read most New Yorker issues cover to cover. Their writers cover a wonderfully-broad range of topics in useful depth. It's the only print publication that I still subscribe to.

The New Yorker is my only print subscription. Literature, art, science, and current events, every issue has articles I find worth while.
