I'm having a hard time understanding what role ShiningPanda would play in our deployment process. Is this a hosted Capistrano type service, but with testing? Or, is it more like Heroku but with EC2/GAE/etc? Something like "it's the [Heroku|

For anyone using Rails 3 with haml, upgrade haml to 3.0.18... bundle update haml I lost a few hours looking for the issue where form_for was silently failing. Great support though. Here is a discussion of the issue and resolution. h

I advocate for declaring post thumbnails in your theme. It's much cleaner and you don't have to rely on a separate plugin.

I don't agree. Not every developer is an super genius who only solves problems using incredible feats of intelligence. I learn something new everyday. For a learning experience we launched a new site using only HTML5. That was a fun learnin

We realize that. I was an employee not too long ago. Every few years I would jump to a new exciting and challenging job. It allowed me to build out a solid skill set enough to start my own company. I want to hire people that have genuine pa

We've had a hard time finding quality candidates. In my experience, the Craigslist job board seems to be dying out. Is hotjobs your first stop in the hiring process?

Well said. The absurdity of saying "most New Yorkers couldn’t fry an egg if their lives depended on it" is what set me off. Also, the fact that I'm a living contradiction to nearly all of Antonio's points.

Having lived in the north east my entire life, I completely agree. Although, I built up a resistance to it after a while. It has definitely hurt some relationships in the past. But, can this attitude be said for lots of cities?

I completely agree with your point about Slicehost resizing not being a great production strategy. Our app servers (on Slicehost) were getting hammered yesterday, so I issue a resize (1GB -> 2GB). After about 20 minutes it gets to about

I would have agreed with you, but now I'm back to the mighty mouse. Two reasons... 1. bluetooth latency issues with older MBP 2. the scrolling is too sensitive to the touch. have you tried Google maps? it's unusable.
