They could always build upon the remaining 32 bit support and provide a kernel build themselves (I don't know the project though)

Relatedly, we don't really have any up to date free software build of the Android SDK AFAIK. To build Android apps, we all rely on the Google binaries, which are non-free. https://forum.f-droid.org/t/call-for-help-

Off topic: this is from April 6, 2015; I'm impressed at the Elon Musk project guess. I would not discard someone's guess of some xOS appearing around 2028-2030 to quickly today .

It could have been that more effort would have been put in Hurd if Linux hadn't taken off. And then BSD could have won against Hurd anyway. Especially when corps like the permissive license and are afraid of the FSF.

AI was over-hyped. I remember how "AI" felt like marketing bullshit at the lab when I was there between 2015 and 2020. Generative AI took it at the next level though. There is no comparison. The meaning of AI has brutally change

Today is not so bad indeed, we've seen between 1/5 and 1/3 in recent weeks. Quite the dilution. Granted, there's been a lot of releases lately. I agree that there's a lot of other stuff though, even on the worst day

I agree that maintainers should not be expected to support patched versions of their software, but as a user I like the Debian policies you call insane. I would actually pick Debian exactly because they are cautious with the dependencies.
