No they aren't, they use hooks to native phone functions. You can't write once, run everywhere. They're native apps written in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. That doesn't mean they're web apps.

Indent however you want to, and don't try to argue objectively for one way or the other. It doesn't work like that. Rather than argue the merits of spaces versus tabs, it's much more important to make sure that you have a consistent style w

I don't mean to be cynical, but it seems like someone else has just "discovered" the motivation for GTD. After all, that's the entire point of the system; Loading everything you need to remember into a trusted system so that your mind can r

Well, he actually said "debugging code when it is running," which a lot of people find valuable. Of course you can debug anything in the looser sense of the term, but tools like debuggers make the process more productive. And yes, many peop

Agreed. I'm reminded of point 3 in the Android guide to good UI messages, a little gem of technical writing style: http://developer.android.com/design/style/writing.html

I'm not convinced that allowing their Windows software to slip in quality - software they force you to use if you buy an iPhone - will improve their brand image or prompt consumers to go purchase an iMac instead.

Personally, I didn't take it that way at all. My team interacts very often with another team based in India. It has nothing to do with outsourcing, that's another location of our global company. So, to me, the term "offshore" in this contex

One of the main take-aways (clickable breadcrumb folders) is already present in both Windows and OS X. In Windows, the current path is represented as a series of clickable buttons, including dropdowns to the right of each folder to show the

Yeah, my comment was a lot clearer in my head. I meant that I was about to launch into a minirant about fair taxation in the US. I did a double take and realized that I had hit an emotional trigger very similar to the kind the article is ca

I cringe a little whenever I see someone try to solve an issue with planning and productivity that's already been covered years ago by awesome systems like GTD - especially when they try to solve it with technology. I want a tool, not an in

This article definitely makes some great insights, but it also rubs me wrong in several ways: 1. Mr. Pavlus asserts that all "life hacking" is a distraction. Yes, he says "9 out of 10" and "in a lot of cases," and he backpedals in the concl
